Marilena is a 25-year-old girl who is going back to her native village in South-Italy. She has lived some years in Rome where she studied alongside her boyfriend, who, however, has left her, and this is in fact the reason for her journey. Being left is a great dishonor for the family, because in the small village where she was born ,you get engage, marry and have children, and now for a girl already “used” is hard to find an husband. Marilena is overwhelmed by the family oppression, popular beliefs and prejudices, she is chasing a momentary freedom, perhaps wrong, even distorted, in the desperate outburst of zumba rhythm.
